Ardnamurchan whisky is one of the top rated whiskies on the podcast. It won our 2025 Whisky of the Year award and we've struggled to find a bad release.

We took a trip up to the Ardnamurchan Distillery and were given access all areas in the distillery and warehouses.

It was a great day seeing how they make the whisky and sampling single cask Ardnamurchan drams.

Not many people would put Lagavulin 16 and Coca-Cola down as a pairing for a whisky cocktail. But former Johnnie Walker Brand Ambassador Ali Reynolds was more than happy to talk it up on the podcast.

She is the Master Blender for Johnnie Walker. Which means, she's the one who signs off an every single release of the biggest selling whisky in the world.

We visited the Lady of the Glen Independent Bottler warehouse and couldn’t believe that they have Scotland’s only Solera Cask System for whisky.

What’s the difference between this system and the Glenfiddich Solera? This is a fully connected Solera Cask System with with 3 whisky casks connected together.

The Glenfiddoch Solera is a vatting that has never been fully emptied since 1998.

Tamdhu 21 is up there with one of the best whiskies we tried in 2026.

The last thing that the guys at Tamdhu wanted or needed to do was to make an even bigger sherry bomb than the 18 year old. But adding that American oak really brings the sherry down and adds much more smooth and sweetness to the whisky.

Tamdhu 15 is one of my favourite go-to drams and the 21 is an even bigger and better version of that.

At nearly £300 a bottle, it’s an expensive dram though.

I did not expect Jura and Tamnavulin to be the top 2 selling single malt Scotch whiskies in the UK. This is for off-trade, which means sales through retail.

And it makes sense, every supermarket will have bottles of Jura and Tamnavulin on the shelves for less than £30.

And that’s what the majority of people want to buy.
